Carson, D. A.
(born December 21, 1946)

Carson was the pastor of Richmond Baptist Church in Richmond, British Columbia from 1970 to 1972. After his doctoral studies, he served three years at Northwest Baptist Theological College in Vancouver. While there, he was the founding dean of the seminary. In 1978, Carson joined Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he is currently a professor.
Carson is a founding council member of The Gospel Coalition.
Carson was born on Dec. 21, 1946 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Thomas Donald McMillan Carson and Elizabeth Margaret. He earned a chemistry and mathematics degree in 1967 from McGill University. In 1975, D. A. Carson received his Masters of Divinity and his Doctoral Degree in the New Testament from the University of Cambridge.
