MacArthur, John F.

John Fullerton MacArthur, Jr. is an American Calvinist, Baptist pastor and author known for his internationally syndicated radio program Grace to You.

He has served as the pastor-teacher of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California since February 9, 1969 and also serves as the president of The Master's College in Newhall, California and The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California.

Theologically, MacArthur is considered a Calvinist, and a strong proponent of expository preaching. He has been acknowledged by Christianity Today as one of the most influential preachers of his time, and has been a guest on the show "Larry King Live" representing the perspective of an evangelical Christian.

MacArthur has authored the MacArthur Study Bible, which has sold more than 1 million copies and received a Gold Medallion Book Award.  His other best-selling books include his MacArthur New Testament Commentary Series, Twelve Ordinary Men, and the children's book A Faith to Grow On, which garnered an ECPA Christian Book Award.

Grace to You, His daily radio program, is broadcast throughout much of the world, began as an audio recording ministry to provide cassettes of his sermons to listeners.
